As a Holistic Health Coach I know your body has an incredible capacity to heal itself. A healthy body fights infection, heals wounds, kills cancer cells, repairs damage, and fights the aging process. Sadly, many factors inhibit a body’s natural self-healing functions; we know that various types of stress and toxins cause harm on the body and that your body needs adequate high-quality sleep, healthy foods, and exercise.
But did you know every word you speak and every thought you have, carries energy that shapes how your body feels and operates?
Research now suggests that positive affirmations can have a direct impact on physical and emotional well-being. When you repeat positive affirmations, you’re essentially feeding your brain new information. If done consistently and with intention, this new information can change how the brain processes the world and your reality. This shift is due to the brain’s incredible ability to adapt and change, known as neuroplasticity.
Maybe you’ve never heard of affirmations or maybe you know all about them and wonder why they don’t work for you. One thing that holds people back more than anything is that you may want and or desire something, but if you feel deep inside that you are not worthy or deserving of that thing, situation, money, or relationship you will not manifest it in your life. Saying or writing, “I am worthy of________” (ex.heartfelt desires), or “I am deserving of________” (ex.good health), will begin to change your subconscious mind if you make it uniquely yours.
The most impactful affirmations are ones that have personal meaning and align with your values and goals. Some examples of personalized affirmations: “I am worthy of love and respect”, “I nourish my body with healthy choices and honor its needs”, “I attract abundance and opportunities into my life.” Remember, these are examples-the most impactful affirmations are ones that have personal meaning and align with your values and goals. Create your own affirmations and attach a feeling to it and visually play out that feeling in your head.
I encourage all my nutrition clients to incorporate affirmations into their routine to help with the changes they are making. I encourage you to start, too. Choose a time that works best for you, morning when you wake up, or before bedtime. Be consistent. Repeat them aloud or to yourself several times per day and begin to manifest the reality you want.
