Asian Burgers with Sriracha Mayo

September 11, 2023

I can’t say enough about these delicious, mouthwatering Asian Burgers with Sriracha Mayo. They are juicy, tender and bursting with flavor. Crispy cabbage slaw adds a nice crunch, and the Sriracha Mayo is a must! Whether you use a hardy bun like Ciabatta or softer bun like brioche, you will want a few napkins on hand. “A messy burger is the best burger.” Hah! Makes about 4-5 patties.

Tip: Grass-fed beef has been shown to have higher amounts of Omega 3’s and CLA’s (conjugated linoleic acid) than grain-fed factory farm raised cattle. Omega 3’s have important roles in heart and brain health. CLA is a fatty acid that reduces the risk of cancer, diabetes, obesity, lupus and arthritis.

Serving

4 people

Ingredients:

1.1 lb grass-fed ground beef
2.1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
3.2 TB oyster sauce (substitute: fishsauce)
4.2 TB Low sodium soy sauce or GF Tamari sauce
5.1 TB coconut sugar
6.2 tsp garlic powder
7.2 tsp onion powder
8.1 tsp toasted sesame oil
9.1/2 tsp ground ginger ( substitute 1 tsp minced fresh grated ginger)
10.1/4 tsp himalayan salt
11.1/4 tsp pepper
12.1 large egg

Sriracha Mayo

1.1/2 cup of Veganaise or regular mayo
2.4 tsp sriracha or to desired spice level
3.2 TB dijon mustard

For Serving

1.Ciabatta rolls or hamburger bun of choice
2.8 ounce bag of coleslaw mix (no dressing)
3.Fresh chopped cilantro

Directions:

1

Make Sriracha Mayo.

Combine mayo, dijon mustard and Sriracha in a bowl. Add more or less of the Sriracha depending on how much or little of a kick you want. Recipe is for a moderate spice level.

2

Prepare Burgers.

In a large bowl combine all ingredients for the burgers-ground beef through egg, and mix well. I use my hand to mix everything up. Nitrile gloves are great for handling raw meat to washing dishes.

Form into 4-5 patties.

3

Grill and Serve.

Preheat grill to medium high heat. 375-400 degrees. Cook patties on preheated grill to your liking: 3-5 minutes to sear on the bottom. Flip and cook for another 3-5 minutes, until you reach your desired degree of doneness.

Serve with cabbage slaw, cilantro and plenty of Sriracha Mayo on bun.

Don’t forget the napkins!
