Functional medicine has become a wellness trend of the 2020s. It’s a branch of medicine based on the belief that everyone responds differently to illnesses. Doctors provide thorough assessments of patients and focus on finding the root cause or causes of an illness.
Functional nutrition stems from functional medicine. It’s the holistic approach to diet, taking into consideration one’s lifestyle factors that could affect their food choices, such as exercise, environment, stress levels, or the presence of chronic disease. Functional nutrition is not a specific diet but a tailored approach based on the holistic needs of an individual, using the principles of root cause resolution.
Can Functional Nutrition Improve Your Health? Yes!
I’ve been teaching clients about food and how it affects their bodies since in 2010. Knowledge is empowering; when we understand why something is happening, it leads to awareness-the “greatest agent for change.” (Ekhart Tolle) Combining knowledge with action leads to long-term goals.
Through my Functional Nutrition programs, people get to the root of the issues to help heal their gut, and working alongside their doctors, are often able to decrease or get off medications, even overcome addictions. Real life-changing stuff!
Are You Ready For Change?
An initial Health Consultation is a great way to find out what’s working for your body, what’s not, and why. During this one-on-one session you’ll have the opportunity to talk about your life, and the goals you’d like to accomplish for your health and wellness. The consultation will take about 75 minutes as we go through your Health History form, and the cost for the consultation is $150. Following the session, I will compile an assessment with recommendations for diet, exercise, and healthy lifestyle suggestions. If we both decide a program is the better option for you, and you are ready to commit, the fee will be waived.
